This is a German classification that describes medium to full-bodied dessert wines that have been made from grapes affected by noble rot to the point that they have become incredibly sweet and rich in flavour. These wines often have notes of apricot, a bouquet of caramel and honey, and are best made from acidic grapes such as Riesling that balance the level of sweetness produced.
