This wine is produced under two Appellations d'Origine Contrôlée around the village of Madiran in south-west France. Red Madiran AOC wines are made using Tannat as the primary grape variety, with Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon being the main secondary grapes. White AOC Madiran wines are made primarily from Courbu and Petit Manseng, with Arrufiac, Gros Manseng and Sauvignon blanc acting as the notable accessory grapes.
