Barsac

Barsac is a commune of the Sauternes appellation in the French Bordeaux wine region. Wine from Barsac is known to have an intense sweetness due to the grapes being affected by noble rot which occurs due to the fungus-enabling conditions in the commune. The three main grapes in Barsac are Sémillon, Sauvignon blanc, and Muscadelle and the resulting wines are visually quite light for the region.
