Petite Sirah
Originating in Hérault, France, this red wine grape variety is also widely grown in Australia, Israel, and California. Petite Sirah, also known as Durif, produces tannic, acidic wines that age well and are characterised by spicy, plummy flavours with notes of chocolate and black pepper and overtones of liquorice. This grape produces such full-textured wines that was historically added to weaker blends to add more character to the resulting wine.
