Ausbruch

Produced in the Burgenland region of Austria, 'Ausbruch' is a term used to describe a sweet dessert wine that has been made from grapes affected by noble rot. Introduced in 1970, a mix of grapes are used to make an Ausbruch, with the most common grapes used being Chardonnay; Pinot Blanc; Traminer, and Welschriesling. These sweet wines are usually paired with savoury cheeses or foie gras to balance flavour.
