Commandaria

This sweet dessert wine is made on the foothills of the Troödos mountains in Cyprus' Commandaria region. Made from Xynisteri and Mavro grapes which are picked when overripe on the vine before being laid out to sundry, this often fortified wine is known to have been served since the 12th century. Commandaria is best enjoyed chilled as this accentuates the merits of the wine.
