Graves rouge
Made in the Graves sub-region which is believed to have been the birthplace of Bordeaux wines, Graves rouge is produced largely from Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, along with Cabernet Franc and a little Petit Verdot and Malbec. These red wines are the most popularly produced wines in Graves, and can be quite delicate and earthy, with significant aging ability and distinct notes of cassis, smoke, and truffle.
